A Breath for the Year

Year has slid by
What have I seen
Where have I been

Oh my God
I think I'm going crazy
It seems so odd
Last year seems like yesterday

A breath the year - it's gone
Just like a real good song
And all the things passes on by
Can I catch them with a blind eye

There were eras that seemed neverending
But then again - always transcending
I felt this deep painful burning
To see that we were still learning

Nobody that I held that day
Would still happen to be here today
I guess that's my own fault
A bitter sentimental grain of salt

She wore my little necklace
To say she'd never forget this
Suddenly it's five years later
And a breath for the year to save her

Goodbye all who I won't see again
I must move on to the next one
